[bi telegraph.] (xreymouth, Saturday. The vice-regal party arrived on Friday evening, accompanied by the Premier from Keefton. A large concourse of people and the friendly societies assembled to welcome him. The town was gaily decorated with triumphal archos, and flags were flying on the business places. The Mayor welcomed hiB Excellency and presented an illuminated address. The volunteers formed a guard of honor, and the officers were congratulated by the Governor on the soldiorly appearance of. the men. Owing to the indisposition of Lady Ranfurly and Lady Constance Knox they did not arrive till Saturday. Torday a grand popular fete was held. There was a lengthy procession, comprising the Governor's party, the Premier, Hon. James Kerr, Mr Guinness, M.H.E., and various societies, decorated bicycles, traps,, and a large following of the general public, which marched through the town to the park, where sports were held, Countess Eanf urly presenting the winners with the prizes, which were gold and silver brooches bearing the inscription "Banfurly." The proceeds from the ffite are to be deyoted to the Old Men's Home. The Premier received deputations in the morning, and has consented to deliver mi ndHrflss nrnbahlv on l^ridav.
