It is stated that the Premier, Senor Sagasta, intends to ask thd Cortes for permission to sell the Mariana, the CaroV line, and the Pelew Islands. * Eeoeived January. 17, 10.20 a.m. London, January 16. In reference to the statement that Senor Sagasta js seeking the assent of the Cortes to the sale of the Carolines Archipelago, The Times says that Britain has no objection to Germany .being the purchaser of the islands.
