[PROM OUB OBMONDVILLE CORRES.Tanuary 11, 1899. The Makotuku sports passed off very successfully to-day, splendid weather favoring the club. The fields were large, the races good, and the finishes very close. Following are the results: — Handicap, worth .£6, £3 and £1 being taken by the second and third men : P. Maloney, 12 points, 1 , J. Gray, 8 points, 2 ; A. Wilson, 7 points, 3. Gray won the 440 from the 15 yard mark in 54 2-sth sco, and also won the maiden 150 yards in 18 2-sth sec. The wrestling was won by J. Healey, P. Bedingfield second. The 220 yardß was run in heats, and resuited: Ist Leach (14), Gray (4) and : Olsen (12); 2nd, Maloney (4), Wilson (14), and J. Howes (14). Both 26sec. , Final: Maloney, Gray, and Wilson'; time, 27sec. May, 85 yards, appropriated the mile easily, in 4min 38 l-sth sec. The costume race was won by A. E. Sugden, and H. Lloyd, of Danevirke, won the Bicycle Handicap, J. Davidson second. P. Maloney won the 220 yards hurdle race in 31 3-sth sec, M.
