RUMOR OP A PEOPOSED NAVAL DEMONSTRATION. THE SCHEME PELL THROUGH Lokdon, May 18. The New York correspondent of The Times states that there is an impression that Prance proposed a naval display in the "West Indies in order to enforce the Powers to intervene on behalf of Spain, but Britain's attitude provented the scheme.
