MR HUNTER AT ONGA ONGA.
' Mr Hunter addressed an appreciative meeting at Onga Onga on Wednesday I evening. In the absence of Mr Rhodes i (who arrived later), Mr I, G. M'Farlane ) was voted to the chair. The chairman ; introduced Mr Hanter as an old friend of I the electors, and one who was widely ■ known for his Integrity and generosity. 1 Mr Hanter dearly and concisely showed i the eleotors the condition of the colony, and in explaining bis own views com- : pletely oarrled the audience with him by the good sound sense he displayed, being frequently applauded. At the conclusion of the speech Mr Rood proposed a vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Hanter, which was seconded by Mr Mackay and carried without an amendment.
