Cape Town, July 20. Mnj or- General Carrlngton'a [expedition to Matoppn haa started. It comprises 3200, including natives. The {Impis who occnpy the hills are chiefly Mchalls, under Matabele leaders. The recent destruction of grain by the enemy haa ten* dered famine among them imminent. The opening of the road from Port Salisbury to JJmtaliis about to take place, and arrangement are being made for els months' supply of provisions for 2000 men.
