The CoddcH rejected a motion on behalf of the Government! to postpone the Land and Income Tax Assessment Bill for a week, aod decided by a large majority to take the second reading to-day. Members complained that it was being purposely kept back. It Is believed the Conocll intend to hang the bill np, or deal summarily with it. Should this be the case, an early prorogation is certain.
