Sydney, Monday. Sir George Dlbba, in taking farewell of his constituents at Wagga Wagga, referred to the question of stiikes, and said it was proposed to bring forward a proposal to amend the Conciliation Act in tbe direotioa of providing arbitration for the parties in any dispute. A private letter from Hamburg state* that Australian meat is selling there at 50 per cent below the price, obtained for the local article. The writer predicts that an extensive business oould be opened up for the Bale of American meat its Germany.
The threatened, lock-out la the boot trade eventuated this morning. Directly or Indirectly between &Oo© and 9000 men, women, and children ate affected by tha strike. The cause cf the strike was tbe refusal of the employe's in three factories to work alongside one non-unlooLit ia each tactory.
