TEMPERAN CE LECTURE.

TEMPEKANCE LECTURES. Sir,—l am informed that the Bey. L, M. lsitt is about to pay Napier a visit and give us another dose of the " temperance question." Cannot something be done to prevent such professional lecturers from disturbing the quiet serenity of our little town ? Cannob the "temperance friends" do their work without importing paid lecturers to screech and howl and talk rodomontade by the hoar? I admire earnest, sincere men, even though they may be a little faddy, and I heartilyjj sympathise with all those whose aim is to Bring the liqHor traffic within reasonable control, but paid lecturers I abominate.— I am, &c, Compos Mentis. April 26th, 1893.
