KAIKORA.

At the Kaikora meeting Mr E, Gray presided and there was about 50 present. It was rumored that the old committee was to be opposed and " ructions " were to take place. The chairman read the report and balance-sheet, showing that the new committee would begin with a credit balance of £22, and on moving its adoption congratulated the householders on the state of the Quauces, and invited any questions with reference to the late committee's work. The opposition, however, were afraid to show themselves, and although the chairman was very deliberate only Messrs C. Clark, D. Arandell, J. Ingleton, J. Metrylees, D. Sutherland, W. Venn, and E. Gray (the old committee) were nominated and were declared duly elected. Ad lbs later meeting Messrs Gray ond Sutherland were reinstated as chairman and secretary respectively, and the night of meeting fixed ior first Tuesday,
