Mr John foiorley, addrssin& a public meeting at Howick last night, declared that the outlook in Ireland at present was very bad, and the social order in that country and a settlement of the land question would not be obtainable without Home Rule. (Rccoiveil December 2, 5.30 p.m.) - A conference between the committee of ' the Imperial Institute and the AgentsGeneral took- place to-day, when the points of disagreement relative to the management of the Institute were discussed. The proceedings were of the most satisfactory character. The committee promised that colonial legislation as to the Imperial Institute should be. fully secured. All the, suggestions made by the Agents-General will be carried out, . Lut the nature of their suggestions has not yet transpired.
