(FROSt OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)

■ A meeting of the above association was held on. Thursday at Kelly's Hotel, Has.tings. Mr Ellis in the chair. The Secretary read the advertisement . convening the meeting, and also a letter, from the Hawke's Bay. County Council, in reply to the Association's letter, urging the Council to take measures for the destruction of small birds. Since that letter was written, however, the Town Board has ceased to exist, the town havinjr been made into a borough ; therefore, Mr Kelly, moved, and Mr G.
