ENGLAND.
London, May 30. General Graham, in his despatches, commends the general order maintained by the New South, Wales contingent, and says that by their action a bright example has been shown of the latent military strength of the Empire, and that the soldierly spirit shown by them was the theme of universal admiration. The various Agents-General and a number of merchants have waited upon the Government and urged them to modify the existing duty on colonial wines. The wheat market is inactive and quotations are unchanged. The weather is now muoh warmer, and the harvest has been delayed a fortnight.
