MISPLACBD CONFIDENCE.
Sir, — The other day the electors of this town were called upon to elect three members to represent it at the Napier Harbor Board. Of course real breakwater men were returned ! Yet how do wo find One of them voting upon the first question relating to the breakwater? Mr Stuart moved that Mr M'Gregor should come up and report on the harbor at Napier, and what do we find ? — that our pld' friend (?) J. A. Smith voted against it. It is indeed time that Napier should know its friends, and that when another election occurs, real breakwater supporters—men like Stuart, Eob Johns, and Vautier— shall be returned, and that a few of the land jobbers will be outside a board where they ought not to sit. — I am, &c., OIJE OF THE NAPIEII WATCHMEN, Napier, March 11, 1879.
