WELLINGTON.
Thursday, October 6. The plant for the Wellington Gas works arrived to-day, in the ship Firth of Clyde. A proclamation waa issued this mornin« proroguing parliament to tbe 10th November. Nine seamen belonging to the Gothenburg have been committed for a month for refusing to obey orders iti Lyttelton and on the passage to Wellington. The Captain
had to steer the ship himself, and his two Ji officers, with two men, work her up. . , - ■ ; : George Swaiuson, a surveyor, was found -_y. dead in bed at an hotel in Marton. .'*"■>-"
