The English Maii, via Suez arrived on Tuesday last by the s.s. Storm Bird. The Gakkicic Club gave a second performance on Tuesday evening. The attendance was very small, -shewing that tbe same entertainment will hardly bear repetition at so short an interval, in so small a place as Napier. Tbe amateurs, notwithstanding the discouragement of so tbin a honse, played with great spirit and very considerable comic power. Two or three songs, by old favorites, served lo vary the programme. Mabtha, Te Kooti's wife, is now in Napier, having arrived by the Luna. It is supposed she will give evidence against the prisoners, sufficient to convict most of them. Meteorological. — The amount of rain that fell last Sunday and Sunday night was exactly one inch. The Hon. Mk. M'Lean arrived on Tuesday last in the Luna, and was very warmly received by all classes. On Wednesday he was present for a short time in the Provincial Council. Last evening he was entertained at a public dinner in the Oddfellows' Hall, a large number of gentlemen being present. J
