Church of England. — The Bishop of Waiapu will hold Divine service next Sunday as follows : — Glive at 11 a.m. ; Havelock at 3 p.m. The sacrament of the Lord's supper will be administered at the former place. Death by Drowning. — On Friday last, as a party of foot constabulary were approaching town from the direction of Te Haroto, one of their number, Corporal Gibson, was drowned in the act of crossing the Mohaka river, a little on this side of the church. He is supposed to have lost his footing on a, boulder, and was carried away instantaneously by the strength of the stream. The body was recovered and buried the same day. The remainder of the party arrived in town yesterday. Horse Stealing. — The man Henry Williams, elsewhere referred to, has been apprehended in the 40 mile Bush by Hatton, of the Armed Constabulary. He had two horses in his possession, supposed to be stolen. He has been committed by the Bench at Waipawa, and will arrive in Na- ' pier to-day.
