ST. MARY'S (BOYS) SCHOOL.
This school, under charge of Mr. Carrick, was inspected on the same day — Friday last, Jhe 20th inst. The Inspector informs us tfiat " there are 45 scholars on the books and there were 35 present at the examination. The classes in reading, arithmetic, and writing from dictation, were ' ; v very creditable." After the - examination, the following prizes were awarded by Major Green for general good answering : — Fwst and Higlmt Glass. Reading, Spelling and Meanings — Ist premium, "William C. Reardon ; 2nd premium, Edmond Peters ; 3rd premium, Joseph Jeffares. Writing — Ist premium, David Simon ; 2nd premium, Charles Simon. English Grammar — Ist premium, William C. Reardon ; 2nd premium, Joseph Jeffares. Arithmetic — Ist premium, Wm. C. Reardon ; 2nd premium, D. Simon. Geography — Ist premium, Wm. C. Reardon ; 2nd premium, J. Jeffares. / Dictation — J. Begg. Second, Class. Reading, Spelling, and Meanings — Ist premium, A. F. Browne ; 2nd \ premium, R. Jeffares. Arithmetic— lst premium, A. F. Browne ; 2nd premium, R. Jeffares.
