ST. JOSEPH'S GIRLS' SCHOOL.
This school, conducted by the sisters of charity* was examined on Friday the 20th inst. ; Major Green, who conducted the examination, informs us as follows:—"There are f sl scholars on the books, and there were 46 present. The result was exceedingly good, more especially in geography, reading, and writing. The pupils make more rapid advancement than in any of the government schools. The following prizes were presented:; — Giels' School. Regular Attendance—M. Begg. Beading and Geography—M. Bald- ■ win (Ist class); A. Connelly (2nd class). , '. - • Reading ■ and- Arithmetic—E-. Hunt - —L-.{2a4 .Qlftfl.B)*—: '—-- - Writing and Arithmetic—R. Villers (2nd class). Reading and Spelling—M. Cleary (3rd class). Ladies' School. General Knowledge and Music — Miss Jeffares (Ist class). Arithmetic—Miss Miller (2nd class). History—Miss Reardon (2nd class). Writing—Miss Worgan (3rd class).
