NOTICES OF MOTION.
Mr. Wood to more in Committee of Supply,— That, with reference to the petition of James Ashton, His Honor the Superintendent be respectfully" requested to place a sum on the estimates by way of compensation for losses sustained by the petitioner, either to be paid in money or expended in the shape of such additional piling as shall tend to proteot the property of the petitioner from further damage. Major Lambeet to move on Tuesday next, — That His Honor the Superintendent state to the Council if the Provincial Government are in possession of any information relative to several persons to whom land has been granted by " Auckland Waste Lands Act," under clause 79, having forfeited their lands through non-compliance with that Act. Major Lambert to move on next sitting day,— That the Government be requested to lay on the table a oopy of the map of- the road throngh the 40-mile Bush, made by the surveyor employed in cutting that road. Mr. Tanner to move on next sitting day but one, — That the General Government be raemorii alised to establish a bi-weekly mail between Napier and Waipawa.
