Acclimatisation. — Mr. Johnson, Curator of the Canterbury Acclimatisation Society, has safely brought to Christchurch about 800 trout ova from Tasmania, and in addition perch, white water-lilies, a quantity of tadpoles ancl a snail, " lymnia stagnalis," a species which feeds on decayed vegetable matter, and affords j suitable food for young salmon; a deer, i and a large quantity of valuable seeds. — j -•' Independent," September 28. |
