The B,s. Taranaki, Oapt. Francis, left Weilington on Tuesday, the 23rd inst., at 1 p.m., and arrived in the roadstead at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, having experienced fine weather throughout the passage. She brought the English May mail via Suez. Thd Taranaki proceeded on her voyage to Auckland on Thursday morning at 7. She may be expeoted here on her journey south on Wednesday next. The coast between Wellington and Napier is said to be strewed with pieces of wreckapparently of a large vessel. The outter Glimpse, Capt. Rattray, left Auokland on the 12th inst. for Mercury Bay, where she loaded a cargo of timber for this port ; sailed thence on the 20th with fine weather and winds westerly, and rounded East Cape on Saturday at noon. She there en. countered a strong wind from the southward, inconsequence of whioh bore up for Hick's Bay, coming to an anchor at 8 p.m. Sailed again on Monday at 10 a.m., with westerly wind; passed Portland Island at 9 a.m. on -Wfidnesaflyr o3l^" 0 '* 11 "' I '^ "*«-*l»e-iK>adei«o4-tl»©-same afternoon. Capt. Rattray reports the Lady Wynyard, Donald M'Lean, and Mahurangi, at anohor in Hick's Bay when he left. The outter Dolphin, Capt. Sohon, for Blackhead, and Hero, ketch, Campbell, for Wairoa and Mpbaka, left port on Tuesday last. The Nautilus, cutter, Capt. Burr, for Auokland and Meroury Bay; the Star of the South, for Auokland ; and Annie, sohooner, for Mangakuri and Porangahau, left on Wednesday. The B.s. Taranaki, Oapt. Francis, for Tau< ranga and Auckland ; and Bee, sohooner, Croucber, for Wellington, left on Thursday. The Strathallan, ship, hence the 18th February, arrived off Salcombe on the 2M May —92 days out— and was at Gravesend on the 24th, No letters from captain or passengers seem to have reached Napier, The Ahuriri, s.s., is ashore at the Buller.
