AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET.
(Mr. Buckland's report for tho wcok ending Oct. 20.) At tho Haymarker, on Saturday, there was a fair show of horse stock, and, although no improvement can be quoted in prices, sales were effected with greater case, and more animals were sold than for some" weeks past. For the vehicles advertised the prices obtained wcro low, the spring carts bringing from £1G 10s to £17 each, the dog cart £24, buggy, £18, and express waggons £24 and £25 respectively. For hay there was a steady enquiry, good qualities being from £5 to £6 the ton, tho Nelson potatoes £5 10s the ton, and the land at Ruakaka 7s the acre. Tho sales of store cattle held during the past week have been fully supplied with stock, generally of a useful description. Prices havo fallen from 10s to 30s per head, or about 15s on the prices obtained a fortnight since. Fafc cattle have shared in the decline noted in the market for live stock. They were in full supply on Thursday, and all quitted. Fat lambs, of good quality, were not so plentiful as on previous weeks. Those brought from 19a to 24s each ; inferior lambs from 10s to 13s each. The fat sheep market was indifferently supplied with stock of good quality, the greater number offered being inferior, and were purchased by the graziers. Pigs were in average supply, and sold, relatively to other stock, at high rates.
