Strange to say, so apathetic appears to be the electoral public, it is almost necessary to remind our relders that the election for two out of the six electoral districts of the new province will bs completed before the day of our next publication — Tuesday and Wednesday next being the days of nomination and polling for the town of Napier; Thursday and Saturday for the district of Clive. At present there are. but two candidates actually in the field for the -town- of Napier, a constituency returning tbree members, — Messrs. FitzGerald and Munn ; but others, it is to be expected, willuome forward at the ; list moment. The crisis is one upon which the future of the province greatly depends, and the electors may have cause for much re- - gret if they now neglect the duty which dervolyes upon them. Messrs. Ferguson and Rhodes are the rival candidates for Clive— both sanguine of succes.s. .; !'
