WAIPUKURAU.
Ovn supplementary issue of the 17th ult. contained a report of a meeting held at Waipukurau, in which various matters of public importance were taken into consideration. A reference to that report will shew that, on two subjects, it was resolved that applications should be made to his Honor the Superintendent. To these applications a very prompt and satisfactory reply has been received, to which we have much pleasure in giving publicity, as under: — Superintendents Office, Wellington, 26 October, 1857. Gentlemen, — I have the honor to inform you that in compliance with your request, the ''Fencing Act" will be proclaimed to be in operation within the Waipukurau district and also that the Sub-Com-missioner will be instructed to carry out in their full integrity the provisions of the 14th clause of Sir George Grey's Land Regulations. I have the honor to be, Gentlemen, Your most Obedient Servant, I. E. Feathebstont, Superintendent. H. R. Russell, J. P. P. Russell, Esq. Capt. Newman, J. P. and the other Gentlemen.
