MID=WEEK BOWLING

SOUTH TARANAKI CLUBS. HAWERA AND PARK WIN. Tn the mid-week section of the Southern Division Shield bowling competition yesterday match play resulted as follow: Park 110 v. Opunake 77; Hawera 107 v. Manaia 82. In spite of wet and boisterous weather the games were finalised. At Opunake the visiting Park (Hawera) team won three of the four rink games as follow, the names of the Park players being mentioned first: Parkinson, Murdoch, Thurston, Goodwin 32 beat Robson, Dalrymple, Hammond, Feaver 19. Franklin, Comerford, McLaren, Smith 22 lost to Hickey, Marcroft, Ritchie, Sinclair 27.

Trigger, Graham, Bremford, Chadwick 33 beat MeCrone, Parkes, Burton, Gunson 12.

Walsh, Carter, Butler, Hotter 23 beat Francis, McLean, Des Forges, Morris 19.

At the Hawera green, three of the four visiting Manaia rinks were beaten. Results were as follow', the names of the Hawera players being mentioned first:

Baker, Goodchap, A. E. Wills, Canning 36 beat Clare, Adlain, Badland, Andrews 15.

Glover, Tait, Colelough, Bull 26 beat Paul, Snowdon, E. Bourke, Hornby 17. Champion, Higgs, McCormick, Robb 18 lost to Payne, Bell, Yarrow, Espiner 32. Jackson, Tidswfell, Spratt, Winks 27 beat W. Bourke, Harrison, Spooner, Watts 18.
