Mr C. T. Young, organising secretary for Dr. G. J. Adams, Democrat candidate for the Patea seat, arrived in Haw-era to-day and will remain until Saturday.
The death has occurred of Mrs H. P. Washbourn, a very widely respected resident of Nelson since the earlier days of the settlement. Dr. H. E. A. Washbourn (Nelson) and Mr F. Washbourn (Timaru) are sons. Another son, Dr. H. O. Washbourn, of Richmond,, died a few years ago.
