COMMITTEE ROOMS AT HAWERA

For the purposes of t.he Democrat Party’s campaign in the Patea electorate, commitee rooms have been established at the Winter Show Buildings, Princes Street, Hawera. * The rooms will be open daily from the hours of 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and inquiries may be made by telephone, No 2139.

The Democrat Party’s interests were furthered by the candidate, Dr. G. J. Adams, who spoke at Hurleyville on Tuesday night on the aim to revive Liberalism. Answering a question Dr. Adams said he favoured the Arbitration Court with modifications. He also stated that the unemployment tax on women was not fair as women di dnot benefit in any way. Asked if h ebelieved in immigration he said. “Yes, if British capital is used.” At the conclusion of the meeting Mr R. G. Scown proposed a vote of thanks to Dr. Adams, which was carried by acclamation.
