PILOT’S LIBEL ACTION
ECHO OF MELBOURNE RACE. SETTLEMENT ANNOUNCED. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright). Received I p.m. to-day. LONDON, Nov. 6. After the air race to Australia, Cathcart Jones wrote a book which bis co-pilot, Waller, considered reflected on liis courage and capacity as a pilot, and he brought a libel action. A settlement was announced by the King’s Bench, Waller’s counsel explaining that he was satisfied, that Jones had no intention of casting any reflection on Waller and was unreservedly withdrawing it if anyone viewed the passage as Waller had done. They remained the. best of friends.
