HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT

PAST AND PRESENT PUPILS. HAWERA PROGRAMME. Fast and present pupils of the Hawera Technical High School will tonight present in St. Mary’s Hall a concert arranged by Miss Joyce Dix ifnder the auspices of the Parents’ Association of the school. A varied programme of high standard has been arranged and the artists will include several of the most popular in Hawera. A feature will be numbers by the school choir, which at the last Hawera competitions was praised by the judge for “superb musicianship” and whose performance was classed as an excellent one. The choir has been much in demand of late and its activities are an important part of school work. A wide variety of musical, elocutionary and dancing numbers will be presented and the jirogramme w -ill conclude with a presentation of Act I of “Quality Street” by Sir James Barrie. Rehearsals have proceeded for some time and a high standard of acting has been attained.
