Dahlias from California were exhibited at the annual spring show of the Newcastle Horticultural Council. The flowers, which were more than a foot in diameter, were embedded in ice. Uncommon Western Australian wild flowers, similarly packed, were also exhibited, while daffodils from New Zealand, sent in cold storage by the Auckland Horticultural Society, won a prize.
