Bitter Attitude of British Manufacturing Centres RETALIATION PROPOSED SPECIAL FISCAL POLICY (.By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, To-day. Mr H. C. Dickie, member for Patea, who returned yesterday by the Mataroa, commented in London that ho heard Jittle concerning the Dominion’s exchange policy, but in Liverpool and the manufacturing centres the people were very bitter. Decently the British Empii-e Economic Union had placed before the British Government recommendations for a fiscal policy which includes the imposition of specific duties on the goods of countries which artificially tamper with their monetary standard. It was obvious that New Zealand would have to be strongly represented at the next Ottawa Conference to prevent Britain’s retaliation by tariffs.
