BADMINTON MIXED DOUBLES

HAWERA CLUB’S COMPETITION. TWELVE MATCHES TO SIX’. Mixed doubles in badminton were played by members of the Hawera Ladies’ Badminton Club and the Glenholm Badminton Club at the Winter Show buildings last night. Teams were selected by Mrs R-. P. Baigent and Mrs Norman, the latter winning 12 matches to six in friendly competition. .Results were as follow: First round.—Claringbold and Mrs Baigent beat Leece and Mrs Norman 15—6, Bavin and Mrs Caselberg beat O'gle and Mrs Riobertson 15—8, Robertson and Mrs Lecce beat Bardsley and Mrs Hamilton 15—10, Caselberg and Mrs Whitehead boat Preo and Mrs Bardsley 15—6, Shalders and Mrs Joll beat Williams and Mrs Thomson 15—6, Kemp and 'Mrs Fyson beat France and Mrs Williams 15—7, Excell and Mrs Pease beat Ablett and Mrs Swinburn 15—8, Fyson and Tidswell beat Boyd and Corrigan 15—14, Swinburn and Mrs Hamilton beat Dunlop and Miss Thomson 15—3.
