NEW LIFE

CONQUEST OF DEATH Soviet Scientist’s Amazing Demonstration on Animal RESTORATION AFTER 10 MINS. “AUTO-JECTOR” APPARATUS (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 11 a.m. to-day. MOSCOW, Aug. 21. Demonstrating the conquest of death, Professor Bruchonenko, a Soviet scientist, astonished delegates to the international congress of physiologists. He drained nearly all the blood from an anaesthetised dog, which lost all reflexes and ceased breathing. Professor Bruchonenko, after ten'minutes applied an autojector apparatus designed to pump blood into an organism and to maintain a normal blood pressure and temperature and also feed oxygen into the blood stream. The dog’s heartbeat and breathing were restored after live minutes, and the autojector was then disconnected and the artery sewn up. , The dog- continued breathing, a moan testifying that life had returned, - Professor Bruchonenko asserts that when death is not final—namely, when the tissues are not destroyed—life can be restored. He has restored life 35 to 40 minutes after death. It is expected that the researches will be invaluable in accident cases.
