PRESERVATION OF BUSH

MOUNT EGMONT INSPECTION VISIT OF FIELD OFFICER An inspection of the Mt. Egmont National Park reserve will be made shortly by Captain G. F. Yerex, F.Z.S., field officer of the Department of Internal Affairs, who will advise what action he thinks practicable for the elimination of goats and the prevention of any recrudescence of the menace. Captain Yerex has had considerable experience in combating the - deer menace to the native forests in both the North and South Islands, and the extracts from some of his reports that have been made public have indicated how serious that menace has become. Most of that experience has been obtained in mountain country.
