British Doctors Plan to Send Units to Abyssinia AMERICANS GIVE SUPPLIES STAFF BEING ORGANISED (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph Copyright.} Received 2.15 p.m. to-day. LONDON, Aug. 21. The “Chronicle” says that Lord Daw-’ son of Penn, physician to H.M. the King, and other eminent doctors interested are planning to send a British Eed Cross expedition to Abyssinia. An appeal for funds shortly is being launched to send two units, comprising 2 1 doctors, 100 orderlies, ambulances and hospital equipment. An American, Dr. Torrance, is organising an Abyssinian Bed Cross, assisted by gifts of medical supplies from lead ing American drug firms. The “Daily Mail’s” Addis Aba da correspondent says it is understood that a meeting of Ministers and tribal chieftains decided on a general mobilisation. Becruiting is being speeded up and two further divisions have been sent to the Italian frontier.
