EUCHRE TOURNAMENTS. (From Our Own Correspondent). On Tuesday, at the social hall of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, the Normanby Football Club held a social and dance, there being a good attendance The prize-winers were: Ladies, Mrs Harrison 1, and Mrs Corrigan and Miss Blackburn equal 2; men, R Eynon 1 and J.. Walden 2. Consolation prizes were won. by Mrs R. Tippett and Mr H. Coxhead. Music for dancing was played by Miss J. Walden and Mr M. J- Greig was master of ceremonies. PUTOETOE EUCHRE. The largest gathering witnessed at a euchre party at Normanby this winter was seen on Thursday night when a function was held in aid of tho funds of the Putoetoo dining hall at Ketomarae pa. Many visitors were present from Taiporohenui, Ohangai and Okaiawa and there was also a large number of pakehas present. Twenty-one tables were engaged for euchre, while an equally large number of persons were onlookers until the dance commenced. Prizes were won by Miss J . Pou and Miss Matoe, first and second ladies respectively, and the men’s prizes were annexed by Messrs R.. Waldon and T. Palmer. The Mountain Road Maori Orchestra supplied the music. Miss Helen Hawe was called upon for several songs and J. Katene evoked much applause for several tap-dancing items. Mr M. Tapara was master ot ceremonies.
