ELTHAM
FACTORY EMPLOYEE FAREWELLED. PRESENTATION TO MR JULIAN. (From Our Ofvn Correspondent). Mr L. V. Julian, who is leaving Eltham at the end of the month, to take up the position of manager of tho Whakamara dairy factory, was tendered a farewell social last night by fellow members of the Eltham Fire Brigade. Superintendent H. Nuttall presided over a full muster of the brigade and friends.. Uuring the evening Superintendent Nuttall took the opportunity of presenting Mr Julian with a travelling rug. Referring to the recipient, Superintendent Nuttall extolled his qualities as a member of the brigade. Mr .Julian had been a member of the brigade for 12' years, and during that timo he had proved his worth as a fireman and competition man. His place would be hard to fill. Secretary Burrows, Deputy-Super-intendent Murray, Firemau Gyde, First Foreman Philpotts, Second Foreman Nees and Fireman Lethbridge all added their congratulations to Mr Julian. Mr Julian brielly replied, thanking the members for their good wishes and speaking of his happy association with the Eltham brigade During the evening items were contributed by Messrs 1\ Gavigan, Burrows. E. G. Smith and “Scotty” C&ird. Mr J. Lindsay Was the-accom-panist. [ GOLF TEAM CHOSEN.
