After appearing before, the east 1 committee, of Wellington Operatic Society for a voice test. Miss Olga Hancock lias definitely boon selected to fill tlie principal character role in tjio society’s forthcoming production, of “The Ceisha,” which is to run for a season of ten nights during August. Miss Hancock, a soprano singer of undoubted ability, who has received her training at the Ha.wera Convent, was recommended for the part by the Sisters of St. .Joseph and journeyed to Wellington on Saturday. Advice o£ her selection was received hv telephone at the Convent yesterday. The daughter <’f Mr F. C. Hancock, Clover Hoad, Hawera, Miss Hancock recently filled an important character role i,u the pantomime “Aladdin.”
