ADVANCE IN LAMB PRICES TRADE SLOW FOR BEEF |' The Bank of New Zealand (produce •department) has received the following advice from its London office as at the close of business last week: “There is very little inquiry for wethers. The market for ewes is rather easier. The advance in prices for lambs has checked the demand,-but it is anticipated that prices will now remain steady. The demand for beef is affected by the low prices of chilled. Trade, generally, is slow. Quotations are: Wethers, light 32d to 42d per lb, heavy 3d to 3J,d; ewes, 2ldto 3 3-Sd; lambs, 2’s G 7-Sd to 7 1-Sd, S’s G 7-Sd to 7d, 4’s ■ G 5-Sd to C2d, seconds 6 1-Sd to did; ox hinds, 32d to 4d; ox fores, 2 5-Sd to 2 7-Sd. LONDON MEAT MARKET i new ZEALAND RETAIL PRICES The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has been advised by its London manager that the following retail prices were being quoted for New Zealand lamb and mutton retailed in London during May, 1935.
