So great have been the ravages of drought in (the western interior that it is estimated between five and six million sheep have died. This is the greatest set-back the pastoral industry in Queensland, has ever experienced. More than. 10,000 cattle and 260,000 sheep have been removed from the drought area. On two (trains last week more than 1000 dead sheep were put off. The president of the Grazier’s Association, Mr N. Bourke, after a tour of t-lic area, said the matter was one for the State and Federal Governments.
