“SOUL MIGRATION” STORY

GIRL’S NEW PERSONALITY FAMILY NOT RECOGNISED (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright). BUDAPEST, May 2. Newspapers publish an amazing story of the “soul migration” of Iris Farczday, an engineer’s daughter. After the crisis in a severe attack of influenza it is claimed that she awoke not recognising her family, talking Spanish fluently and constantly referring to Pedro and Madrid, although she had not previously heard the language or visited Spain. She was unable to speak her native Hungarian and was accordingly taught German, upon which she explained she was San Pedro Salvio, a Spanish charwoman uho died when Iris suffered influenza.

She sings in Spanish, cooks Spanish dishes and is delighted to find herself changed from a poor 40-year-old mother with many children to n girl living in comfort with parents to whom she is very attached. She is now calling her mother Sonora.

Spaniards are amazed at the accuracy of her description of Madrid. Her mother declares that Iris died and a stranger’s soul entered her body.
