Recurrent Shocks Felt Over Wide Area Since April 12 MANY BUILDINGS DESTROYED CONSIDERABLE LOSS OF LIFE
(United Press Association—‘By Electric Telegraph , Copyright). deceived 11 a.m. to-day. TEHERAN, April 23. Recurrent earthquake shocks have been felt since April 12 over a wide area in the province of iMazanderan. Many buildings have been destroyed.
So far between 483 bodies have been recovered, "but the exact number of victims has not yet been ascertained, as communication with several districts has been cut off.

Carrier pigeons are bringing the latest details of the results of the earthquake in Formosa. ®° property is estimated at £S,oOu,OUU Huge fissures appeared m the ground, engulfing whole villages. The natives call them the devil s laughing mouths. Further shocks were recorded on Monday.
