CLAIM FOR £7OOO SUCCEEDS

SOLE SURVIVOR OF ESTATE SUPREME COURT ACTION (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 28. A claim for £7OOO, representing the residue of the estate of Mary Teresa Murphy, who died at Cambridge on May 30, 1913, made by a grandchild, Michael Huia Kent, a gardener, living at Auckland, eame before Mr Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court to-day. In her will Mrs Murphy directed that the estate should be held by the Public Trustee for 21 years and be divided then among her daughter and the grandchildren surviving her. Kent proceeded against the Public Trustee, claiming that he was the only survivor from the testatrix’s daughter and grandchildren. After hearing evidence the judge said he was satisfied Kent was the sole survivor and the only person entitled to the estate.
