ATTEMPT TO BLOW SAFE

BURGLARS DISTURBED. (By Telesrraph—Preia Assoclaticn.) WELLINGTON, To-day. An attempt was made to blow a safe in the office of William Cable and Co., Kaiwarra, last night, but the thieves apparently were disturbed asf there was no explosion. The lock was found plugged with gelignite, but no detonator or a fuse was attached. It is stated that even if they had been successful the safe would have vielded nothing of value.
