Gift Afternoon
A very enjoyable gift afternoon was tendered in honour of Miss Ella Peacock at Eltham on Monday afternoon by Mrs H. Gubb and Mrs Sybil Pennington. There were about SO guests and a very pleasant time .way spent. Apologies were received from Lady Carnqross, Mesdames Fountaine, Tiplady, Ryburn, Irvine, Spencer Beslcy, Townsend, AlcCready, Fisher, J. Campbell, Muggefidge, Thomas, Misses J. Campbell, P- Fountaine, 1. Fisher, J, Paterson and N. Fake. A musiscal programme was contributed to by Airs J. A. Rankin, Misses Jean Campbell, Nola Arthur, P. Spencer and IX Pepperell. Two novelty dances were given by Misses M. Lawrance and D. Pepperell. Competitions were won by Mrs Hillmer and Mrs Cl Cooper. Afternoon tea was served by the girl friends of the guest of honour, and an autograph album was handed to Miss Peacock, .signed by all present. Airs Gubb thanked the guests foxhelping to make the afternoon a- success, and wished Miss Peacock all happiness and prosperity in the future. Assisted by Miss J. Peacock and Miss R. Bullock (Hawcra), Miss Peacock opened the gift parcels and returned thanks. Mu-sical honours were accorded the guests, Mrs Beesley being the piariiste.
