SHOTS FIRED AT LANDLORD

Tcssic Zuppicich, a domestic aged 41, Was yesterday committed to the Supreme Court for trial on a charge of discharging a 22 calibre rifle at Thomas Joseph -Sleeman with intent to do grievous bodily barm. Sloeman said in evidence that Airs Zuppicich and her husband bad for some months occupied a house in Bligh Street, New Brighton, owned by Jiim. On the afternoon of Alarch 11 with three other persons lie visited the house. He knocked at the back door and Airs Zuppicich inquired who was there. Sleeman replied, “You know who is here, it’s Air Sleeman.” Airs Zuppicich then said, “I’ll shoot you.”
Sleeman did not take the word seriously, but on looking through the aper-. ture lie saw someone .pointing a rifle. He ducked his head and a bullet, flew j past his face. Two other shots were fired and one bullet grazed a finger. The men who'had accompanied Sleeinan gave similar -evidence; and the police- witness told of a search of-; the-house-and He discovery'of a .22 calibre rifle and a box, of cartridges, of which three had been used.
