Demonstration by 25,000 Germans at Memel Sentences POLICE STOP MARCH (United Press Association—By Eleotrio TeXegrapa , Copyright). Received 2.0 p.m. to-day. BERLIN, March 27. Preceded by detachments of the Hitler youth movement, shouting “Germans, awake,” and singing Nazi songs, 25,000 assembled at Lustgartcn to protest at the Memel sentences and to denounce the alleged ill-treatment of prisoners. The police prevented an attempt to march to the Lithuanian Legation. Herr Steinacher, leader of the association for Germans abroad, declared that the only guilt of tho prisoners was loyalty to Germany. Similar demonstrations -tvere lield elsewhere in Germany.
