Expiration of Notice
Japan’s Withdrawal From League Becomes Effective ONE OF ORIGINAL MEMBERS (British Official Wireless) Received 1 p.m. to-day. RUGBY, March 27. Japan’s withdrawal from the League of Nations becomes effective to-day at the expiration of her two years’ notice.
The Secretary-General of the League issued a statement regretting that the League should he deprived of one of its original members. He adds that the League is given, to understand that the Japanese Government, though having no farther rights or obligations towards the League, intends to pursue a policy of international co-operation in the spirit of the imperial rescript promulgatedvfcwo years ago.
