AMATEUR ATHLETICS

CENTRE EXECUTIVE MEETING The chairman of the West Coast (North Island) Amateur Athletic Centre, Mr A. Grant, reported to the executive at Hawera last night that there was a strong revival of athletics in the Manawatu district. Others present at the meeting were Messrs L. I. Marter, J. W. Bates, A. G. Whiting, L. H- Clapham, W. H. Nicol and L. O. Hooker (secretary). Mr Hooker mentioned that there was a possibility of an exchange of visits between Australia and New Zealand being made more frequently. The difficulty in the past had been that there was no co-operation between the Australian States, but there was now a distinct possibility of this being overcome.
